Rebooting Dabble with Words

A reboot note for Dabble with Words, revisiting an older word game prototype. The post explains why the idea still matters and how the project might return.

Around a little more than a year ago, I began working on a small game project. Tentatively titled Dabble with Words, this game project would be a breakaway from a never-ending ambitious project I had been working on, which might never even see the light of the day.

Today, I have decided to reboot Dabble with Words because of three main reasons, in no particular order:

  1. Spellbound has been stretched for far too long. It has been in part time development for over two years now, and certain recent developments in collaboration have caused a hinderance to the project. While the project does look promising, I'm simply putting the project on a hold for now.

  2. Dabble with Words will be a quick project (1-2 months at max). If it does not work out, it will be the best way to learn how to fail fast. It would also be helpful to test the waters on the iOS App Store. I have no experience with marketing, so this will add a bit to my experience.

  3. It does not need any part of it outsourced. I will be able to do all the UI design and programming on my own. Would only need to outsource for sound effects.

That being said, here are a few images of the what the game might look like:
